Homemade Charred Salsa

Wanted to try making a salsa negra. Happy with the result but i didnt use soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce so it wasnt as good as it could be.

Homemade Charred Salsa

Ingredients

  • 1 tortilla
  • 1/2 onion
  • 2 jalepenos
  • 2 poblano peppers
  • 4 dried chipotle peppers
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 4-5 roma tomatos
  • 4-5 tomatillos
  • Lime juice
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Slice tomatos, tomatillos, and onions. Split peppers and remove seeds. Preheat at 500F for broil. Place items skin up on broil on highest rack.
  2. Sear until skins are darkened.
  3. Soak chipotle peppers in boiling water for 20-30 minutes.
  4. Char 1 tortilla.
  5. Cook whole cloves of garlic in oil until golden brown. Combine in blender and season with like and salt.
  6. Result should be smoky and spicy
