Ingredients
- 1 rack of pork ribs
- 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
- 2 clove garlic, minced (optional)
- 2 lb Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes
- 4 tbsp butter
- BBQ dry rub seasoning (your preferred blend)
- BBQ sauce (your preferred brand or flavor)
- Black pepper, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Yellow mustard (enough to lightly coat the ribs)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325Β°F.
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs.
- Spread a thin layer of yellow mustard over both sides of the ribs to help the seasoning stick.
- Generously coat both sides with your desired BBQ dry rub, pressing the seasoning into the meat.
- Place the seasoned ribs in a baking dish or on a baking sheet. Cover tightly with aluminum foil to trap moisture and keep the ribs tender and juicy while cooking.
- Bake at 325Β°F for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully take off the aluminum foil.
- Generously brush your preferred BBQ sauce over both sides of the ribs.
- Return the ribs to the oven uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, allowing the BBQ sauce to caramelize and form a flavorful glaze.
- Remove from the oven and let the ribs rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
- Mashed potatoes: Peel the potatoes (optional) and cut into evenly sized chunks.
- Place the potatoes in a large pot of salted water and bring to a boil.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add butter, warmed milk or heavy cream, and optional minced garlic.
- Mash until smooth and creamy, adding additional milk as needed.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve the BBQ ribs alongside creamy mashed potatoes, with extra BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
